CHP joined learners around the globe in celebrating the power of reading and sharing stories on World Read Aloud Day. The school was filled with a buzz of energy as children laid out their blankets and cozied up with their books and friends, eager to share key parts of their stories with each other. And of course, what goes down best with a good book…. beautifully iced cookies!
“Children need books that are mirrors to see themselves in their own experiences, windows that they can look through to see other worlds that they can compare to their own, and sliding glass doors that allow them to enter other worlds.” – Rudine Sims Bishop
