TAKE NOTE

Spring Walk 2023

We would like to thank all our families who donated money during our annual Spring Walk. Once all money is collected we will share how much we raised and what it will be used for. Please ensure that all Spring Walk money is sent in by this coming Wednesday.

Last day of school

School will close on Thursday 7^th December at 11:00am and the school will close down at 12:00pm. ALL CHILDREN must be collected. There will be NO supervision after 12:00pm.

Notice

Please note that the ‘Notice to Leave’ period for any child leaving at the end of the year is now closed.

School Fees

All statements for November have been emailed. Please check your email inboxes as well as your Spam and Junk mail. Please ensure all fees are paid on or before the 7^th of the month. Please note: If we do not receive your payment by the 7^th of the month, a late fee penalty of R500 will be charged to your account if no prior payment arrangement has been made. Grade 6 and 7 Exams

Exams start on Tuesday 14^th November. Please ensure your child is well prepared and they are at school every day. The exams end on Monday 20^th November. The exam timetable and exam content will be sent home this week.

Grade 7 Valediction

The Grade 7 Valediction Dinner will be held on Thursday 30^th November at 5:30pm at The Swiss Club in Vorna Valley. Invitations were emailed on Tuesday 31^st October. Please RSVP by the 20^th November to Leressa Sebastian admin@carlswaldhouse.co.za

Only Grade 7 learners and their parents are invited (no siblings)

“Thank You” drive

Each year we like to say a big Thank You to our wonderful teacher assistants and grounds staff. This year we would like to ask each child to bring in R70. We will be giving each staff member a Pick n Pay voucher from the children. A detailed letter will be going out today with more details.

Grade R Assembly: Grade R parents please save the date

The Gr R “Celebration of Me” will be held on Friday 1^st December. Invitations will be sent out closer to the time.

Weekly Reminders

Uniform

Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct Summer uniform and that all items are labelled! If your child brings home uniform that does not belong to them, PLEASE return the uniform to reception.

Lost Property

The amount of lost property found lying around the school by the end of each day is concerning. Piles of unmarked clothing, shoes, stationary, lunch bags etc. have been placed in the lost property corridor next to the Aftercare class. Please ensure that your child’s clothing is clearly labelled. There will be an opportunity for parents to sift through/collect their children’s lost items every Friday from 13h30 to 14h00. Thereafter, all unclaimed or unmarked items will be donated to the 2nd hand uniform shop.

Swimming

If you would like to enrol your child for swimming at 345 swim school, please contact Karen Visser at fees@carlswaldhouse.co.za

Hair

Boys: Hair needs to be short, neat, clean and tidy. No fashion hairstyles such as Mohawks, comb-overs, shave lines etc are permitted.

Girls: Hair needs to be tied back, neat, clean and tidy. Hair accessories need to be Black, White, Red or Blue.

Lunch

If you would like your child to be a part of the school lunch programme for an additional fee, please contact Karen Visser at fees@carlswaldhouse.co.za

If you pack lunch for your child, please ensure that it is healthy and that there is enough food for a morning snack and lunch. We are a NUT FREE school. Please do not pack any food that contains any nuts.

Aftercare 14:00 – 17:30

We require a months’ notice to cancel school services, aftercare, swimming and the lunch programme
