Wednesday 17^th January	Start of Term 1 2024 – School re-opens at 7:00am
Wednesday 17^th January	Parents Information Evening – Gr R-3
Thursday 18^th January	Parents Information Evening – Gr 4-7

TAKE NOTE

Last day of school

School will close on Thursday 7^th December at 11:00am and the school will close down at 12:00pm. ALL CHILDREN must be collected. There will be NO supervision after 12:00pm.

Uniform Shop

All uniform requirements for 2024 have been emailed. The uniform shop is open Monday-Friday from 7:30am-12:00pm. Please bring your child for fitting, the sizes are different to a retail store. Please note that the uniform shop will close on Wednesday 6^th December. The uniform shop will re-open Friday 12^th January 2024 at 9:00am.

School Fees

All statements for December will be emailed on Friday 24^th November. Please check your email inboxes as well as your Spam and Junk mail. Please ensure all fees are paid on or before the 7^th of the month. Please note: If we do not receive your payment by the 7^th of the month, a late fee penalty of R500 will be charged to your account if no prior payment arrangement has been made. Grade 7 Valediction

The Grade 7 Valediction Dinner will be held next Thursday 30^th November at 5:30pm at The Swiss Club in Vorna Valley. Please RSVP by the 20^th November to Leressa Sebastian admin@carlswaldhouse.co.za Only Parents and your Grade 7 learner are invited (No children or siblings)

“Thank You” drive

As we do every year, we are asking each child to bring in R70. We will be giving each class assistant and grounds staff member a Pick n Pay voucher to say a huge THANK YOU from the children. Letters have been emailed.

Grade R Assembly: Grade R parents, please save the date

The Gr R “Celebration of Me” will be held on Friday 1^st December. Invitations will be sent out closer to the time.

“Celebration of Me’ Prize Giving (Grade 1 – 6)

“ Celebration of Me” will be held on Wednesday 6^th December. Further details will be emailed closer to the time.

Uniform

Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct Summer uniform and that all items are labelled! If your child brings home uniform that does not belong to them, PLEASE return the uniform to reception.

Lost Property

The amount of lost property found lying around the school by the end of each day is concerning. Piles of unmarked clothing, shoes, stationary, lunch bags etc. have been placed in the lost property corridor next to the Aftercare class. Please ensure that your child’s clothing is clearly labelled. There will be an opportunity for parents to sift through/collect their children’s lost items every Friday from 13h30 to 14h00. Thereafter, all unclaimed or unmarked items will be donated to the 2nd hand uniform shop.

Swimming

If you would like to enrol your child for swimming at 345 swim school, please contact Karen Visser at fees@carlswaldhouse.co.za

Hair

Boys: Hair needs to be short, neat, clean and tidy. No fashion hairstyles such as Mohawks, comb-overs, shave lines etc are permitted.
Girls: Hair needs to be tied back, neat, clean and tidy. Hair accessories need to be Black, White, Red or Blue.

Lunch

If you would like your child to be a part of the school lunch programme for an additional fee, please contact Karen Visser at fees@carlswaldhouse.co.za

If you pack lunch for your child, please ensure that it is healthy and that there is enough food for a morning snack and lunch. We are a NUT FREE school. Please do not pack any food that contains any nuts.

The school gate opens at 6:30am. No child may be dropped off before this time.
We require a months’ notice to cancel school services, aftercare, swimming and the lunch programme
Tuckshop is every Friday. Children may bring money
Please ensure all uniform items are labelled and the correct Summer uniform is worn
Lost property is located next to the Aftercare class
No Smart watches or cell phones may be brought to school
