Admissions
The selection of the right school to suit your child’s personality and interests is one of the most difficult yet important decisions a parent can make. At Carlswald House Preparatory School, we do our best to place the needs of each and every child as a priority.
We invite you to complete the online application and join the waiting list. The application forms and fee structure can be downloaded from our website or you may collect an application form from the school office.
Please note the following:
- An application fee is payable when the online application is completed. Proof of payment should be sent to fees@carlswaldhouse.co.za.
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate and most recent school report is required for all Grade R – 7 applications.
- Once the application is received, you will be added to our waiting list and contacted directly when a place becomes available.
- Should a space become available, all Grade R – 7 applicants are expected to complete an entrance assessment.
- The Headmaster may request a parent meeting before acceptance.
2023 Fees
Application Fee: R400
A non-refundable application and assessment fee.
ENROLLMENT FEE: R7 000 per child
The enrollment fee is non-refundable. This is a once-off fee, payable once your application is processed, approved and you accept the place at the school.

- *GRADE R fees include mid-morning snack, cooked lunch, stationery, school outings/shows, concert costume, school photos, labels, birthday book and school magazine.
- Annual payment will receive a 5% discount payable up front in full by no later than the 31st of January.
- Termly fees are payable on or before the first day of each of the three terms.
- A sibling discount of 5% off tuition fees for the 2nd child is offered.
Compulsory Annual Charges
GRADE 1 and 2 CONSUMABLES LEVY: R 3 200
This levy is a NON-REFUNDABLE charge which covers: School diary, school magazine, school outings/shows, concert costume, school photos, labels, birthday book, IT development, daily writing books and stationery for the year.
GRADE 3 to 7 CONSUMABLES LEVY: R 2 000
This levy is a NON-REFUNDABLE charge which covers: School diary, school magazine, school outings/shows, concert costume, school photos, labels, birthday book, IT development and daily writing books. Stationery is excluded.
GRADE R to 7 GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE LEVY: R 750 per family
Payable in September (maintenance of school grounds)
Uniform
Carlswald House school uniform is available from the school Uniform Shop. A uniform requirement list will be supplied on enrollment.

Optional
GRADE 1 to 7 MEALS
R1 000 per month. This is an additional cost for a mid-morning snack and a fully cooked lunch. (There may be a price increase mid-year as food prices increase significantly)
